Blue is the first doe that I have to show for my efforts with artificial insemination. She is a bit different style that the rest of the herd, and I will admit I lovingly joke often about all the does from Opal being my “dump truck” line. Opal is not pretty herself but always managed to produce some nice looking daughters. Like her dam, Blue is an easy keeper but really is showing she can also milk and is producing a fine amount of butterfat. I do really appreciate the front end assembly on Blue. she is stronger in the brisket, wider in the chest floor, and tighter in her shoulders than several others. Although she is a bit different style than the rest of the herd, she is one that will be around for a while and hopefully give us a few improved daughters of her own!
